Both the House and the Senate have adjourned, the boards read sine die, and the 2009 special session is over. What now? Go read Trip Jennings’ story on the bit that finally came out of the special session.

In the end, the House voted to concur with four of the five amendments added to HB 17 by the Senate . The Senate receded the amendment and the legislation will now be sent to Gov. Bill Richardson.

Senate Pro Tem Tim Jennings came to the House to tell them that the Senate had declared sine die and went home.

“I just came to tell you that we’re gone, and thank you all very much,” Jennings said.

Before this, Speaker of the House Ben Lujan, D-Nambe, said, “This is part of our jobs as lawmakers to make the hard decisions.”

All warned that they’ll be back with more of the hard decisions in January.
