The Monday blogosphere: Diane Denish Edition

By | 11.02.09 | 1:24 pm

Blogger M.G. Bralley has stirred up the blog world with a post claiming that a Democratic state Senator, Tim Eichenberg, strongly believes that Lt. Gov. Diane Denish can’t win the 2010 gubernatorial race. According to Bralley, Eichenberg told a crowd at a community meeting that he had spoken to Denish and told her that because of her “complacency or complicity with the ‘pay-to-play’” atmosphere of the Richardson administration, he doesn’t think she will be elected Governor.

After this blog news, Roundhouse Roundup‘s Steve Terrell wrote about the state GOP’s reaction to Eichenberg’s sentiments, noting that GOP governor candidate Susana Martinez was the first to issue a “They Said It!” press release.

Then, blogger Peter St. Cyr updated the unfolding situation with a comment from Former Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairman Brian Colon, who may end up on the ticket with Denish, reading: “Sen. Eichenberg is entitled to his opinion, but I have been traveling the state non-stop for several weeks and have a much different perspective.” Colon believes Denish is the right choice for New Mexico with her ideas on ethics reform, education, and our economy.

Lastly, blogger Ched Macqugg asked, “Has Diane Denish ever taken a real stand against corruption?” He suggests the answer is no. Macqugg is a supporter of Republican Janice Arnold-Jones’ campaign for governor.
