“A Horrific Outburst Of Violence” at Fort Hood

Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoonat Fort Hood in Texas. ABC News reports that the suspected gunman is Major Malik Nadal Hasan. Two others who were suspected of being involved were also arrested, ABC News reports.

President Barack Obama, speaking to the press, said the events were “horrific.”

“A number of American soldiers have been killed and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence. My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded, and the families of the fallen, and those who live and serve at Fort Hood,” Obama said.

Texas governor Rick Perry ordered flags be flown at half staff.

Details are still coming in on the incident.
