In response to the complainer(s) - I have been a web developer since the mid-90s and did think it odd that I had to click the back button, but also decided that I would not be lazy and ignore the other questions.

To the complainer(s): you are not self-entititled to have everything tailored to make your life easier. Deal with it, stop complaining, and find happiness in the universe instead of fault in others.

But guess what? I am self-entitled to avail myself of every opportunity to help my fellow beings in this universe. Deal with it.

Wow! Aliandra, I sure struck a nerve! I appreciate your reference to ProPublica. I love the work ProPublica does. I'm a huge, huge fan. Honestly, we don't quite have the resources they do, but we're trying. And I think we're doing reasonably well. You say we're entirely old-school-pen-and-paper journalism, and hey, partly that's true. We're journalists--not programmers or web designers or statisticians. But for boring, old-fashined journalists, I think we've done a pretty good job on opening up the political process here with our webcasting and live blogging, don't you?

No, but I am interested in improving the quality of public discourse by robust participation, and by properly classifying arguments and opinion according to accepted academic taxonomy. It is not uncommon for rational argument to be called rude when ad hominem arguments otherwise dominate discourse.

One might consider it rude for one to question a guest's participation in a discussion where the public at large is invited to "tell us a little about yourself" and in which the host of the discussion asked to know if the particular guest concurs with the host's opinion of the quality of discourse.

I've been checking out your comments since I came across your most recent. You're on a tear, bro. This site offers much good to New Mexico, don't confuse it with the media funding problem for actual newspapers that have big staffs. We have a problem and it isn't the NM Independent. It's hard to take you seriously when you even unleash on this post, which does no reporting at all.

The communique on which I commented is not a "post" is much as it is a "survey" (results being dynamically "posted" after each new entry) and the survey instrument is styled to exclude the most economically significant employment sector in recent news -- the record unemployed sector -- while results reveal the majority of readers at this are public employees. I provided analysis to that effect.

I don't apportion quality analysis in media in proportion to the "good" that media does. I've yet to find a media organization in which the mission statement contians anything to the effect of "do good."
