The Freedom from Religion Foundation is posting 10 new billboards in Albuquerque, reports KRQE. The boards highlight the importance of science and the separation of Church and State.
The Taos News reports on the local school district’s bond construction and a $675,000 extension approved for the Parsons Commercial Technology Group’s contract. The Group is in control of several projects, while overseeing $40 million district-wide in bond-funded construction projects.

The Pueblo of Jemez has received nearly $5M in the Dept. of Energy stimulus funding for geothermal projects, says the Los Alamos Monitor. Partnered with Los Alamos National Laboratory, the project will focus on “hot water seeps” located near the bank of the Jemez River.

A piece of New Mexico will decorate the White House during the holiday season, says the Santa Fe New Mexican. Members of Girls Inc. have decorated 20 extra-large spheres with images representative of state landmarks, and will be displayed on the White House Christmas tree.

From the AP: Bill Richardson has been invited to attend a state dinner at the White House on Tuesday. The dinner will honor Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Paul Bosland, an NMSU professor who leads the chile breeding and genetics research program at the school, has been honored with the Governor’s New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award, the Deming Headlight reports.
