According to the Project for Excellence in Journalism, former Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin was the third-most discussed news story of the week from November 16-22, trailing only health care and the economy. The “uproar created by a recommendation that women in their 40s did not need routine mammograms” ranked fourth and President Barack Obama’s trip to Asia ranked fifth.
Palin, whose book “Going Rogue” was released last week, had more attention on her from the media even than when she decided to resign from the governorship of Alaska halfway through her first term.
Palin was the second-highest newsmaker, trailing only Barack Obama. That metric measures how many news stories that feature the newsmaker in at least half of the story.
