yone demonized the double dippers…all 1100 or whatever the changing number was. If the legislators really wanted to do something good for their constituents and this state, they should look at ceasing the issuance of drivers licenses to illegals, free healthcare to illegals, and free education to illegals. Quit making those of us who work and pay taxes support people who sneak across the border and have kids and milk the state's coffers. Instead, they chose to target a group of people who pay taxes on BOTH a pension and paycheck, as well as subsidize the PERA fund with no additional credit. Only a small number of double dippers are making egregious salaries like those spotlighted on TV. I'm sure the illegals contribute less to our society and receive more than double dippers ever will. I'm really glad our legislators have their priorities straight.

Gosh none of these double dippers ever sought out their return, (the next sound is of me vomiting). If you believe that then you deserve all the corruption New Mexico politics can give you. Hoffman was a big part of Marty's administration. He has only been retired for a year or so. So everything just went to poo in the last 11 months. My gosh he is Christ on earth. Oh please please come back. None of us remember that you were Marty's finance guy for so many years. We only believe that you have been asked to come save us. (that sound is me vomiting again).

There are plenty of non retired folks to do this job and they will do better, if only given a chance. Good bye double dippers, see you in January at the legislature!

You are 100% wrong on everything. You can suspend your pension. Felicia, the mayors secretary volunteered to suspend hers. As far as such great expertise, both of these guys were here leading us into the financial mess. Now they are the Messiah's to lead us out?????? Hoffman was Marty's guy for many years, so just when did he not contribute to the mess?

With you thinking there will always be a reason or a crisis for the good old boys to be needed. Sorry, I think come January a new day is dawning in the land of pay to play. Double dippers are going to be out the door and good riddince!

No need to feel sorry for me. You obviously have observed a different side of Hoffman than we have. If you cannot understand the reference to Pee-Wee Herman than you obviously need to lighten up… a child in a grown-ups body? Can't you do better than that? Marty is history, move on please! Concentrate on your boy Hoffman not me! Grow up? What makes you so mature? Chill? No anger here missy, just pointing out the obvious. Hoffman couldn't lead a camel to water. But he's the Mayor's boy so we'll see how far he goes. Direct your energy towards good deeds and a productive society!

As a volunteer at the Veteran's Memorial, I have known Lou for a long time. He was a supporter of Richard Romero, another ethical person. He was asked by R.J. Berry to head the department. He didn't seek it. If there were others more qualified, I think the transition team would have hired them. The former administration left the city in a huge financial mess. We
can't afford to use it as a training ground for inexperienced .people who may have an MBA but don't understand the problems we are facing. Lou will do a great job for the next four years, and trust me, he'll be bringing along those who can take over just as he has done in the past.

What an angry, jealous person you must be. I truly feel sorry for you, as your comments seem to come from a place of venom. Look back at the articles about Lou Hoffman during the Robert Vigil mess where his ethics were tested to the limit and he didn't play ball with the corrupt politicians others in high places were willing to deal with – including the former mayor . Your reference to Pee Wee Herman is apt as it most likely applies to your view of the world – a child in a grown-ups body. People like Hoffman are the ones we need to get us out of the mess Marty left. Makes me wonder where you fit in.
At any rate, chill and direct your anger at the places it deserves. I know almost everyone on the PERA board and your opinion doesn't ring true. So, again, you aren't even accurate in your characterization. Lou hasn't been on the PERA board for over three years! Grow up and stop being so angry. You'll live longer and happier.
