I don't understand the headline. How does an increase in the number of people receiving food stamps mean that more New Mexicans are going hungry? The food stamp program gives people food. My family and I received food stamps for a while several years ago after I was laid off from a job. We never became hungry as a result of receiving food stamps.

First. I agree that Clinton, Bush and Obama supported and expanded the program. But what I said is Bush got us to this point by mismanaging the country while he was in office. Obama inherited the mess. He has to fix it, no doubt, he indicated he could.

Second, Obama inherited the wars from George W. Bush also. He has to fix it, no doubt, he indicated he could.

Second, if you read the story, you'll see that Clinton, Bush and now Obama supported and expanded the coverage of this program. The NYT specifically mentions the Bush impetus.

Thirdly, Obama will announce that he is expanding the Afghanistan war today. It is now Obama's war.

We have the Bush administration to thank for this condition that the country and state finds itself in. They plundered the coffers of the American people to start unnecessary wars that we are still fighting and funding today.

Their policies here at home were no better, deregulation everything they could so their political backers could benefit at the expense of the average American.

And the sorry fact is they did it in broad daylight.
