Comcast, a cable and internet provider which has a deal in place to buy NBC from General Electric, has broken from the Chamber of Commerce on the issue of health care. Last week, Comcast’s CEO Brian Roberts wrote a letter to President Barack Obama backing the Senate health care bill.
“Enactment of comprehensive health care reform legislation is, in my judgment, critical to putting this country on a path of sustained growth and prosperity,” Roberts wrote.
The Chamber of Commerce, the country’s largest business group, has been lobbying against health care reform.
Comcast provides internet and cable services in many cities throughout New Mexico including Albuquerque, Las Cruces and Santa Fe.
