The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee made a major ad buy Tuesday, spending $144,011.12 on ads on behalf of Martin Heinrich and opposing Darren White in the 1st Congressional District according to Federal Election Commission filings.

This may signal a new TV ad will be on the air by the DCCC.

This is by far the largest expenditure the DCCC has spent in New Mexico; this brings the total spent in New Mexico to $291,726.06 according to Swing State Project’s Independent Expenditure Tracker. The previous largest media buy in the 1st Congressional District was $17,454.75. So far, there have been no other Independent Expenditures in any other House race in New Mexico.

Senate filings are not online.

The buys come on a day where the committee spent approximately $1.75 million in expenditures across the country; the DCCC has reserved $1.3 million in airtime in the 1st Congressional District so far and has used a fraction of that.

Their Republican counterparts, the National Republican Congressional Committee, have reserved $730,000 in ad time for Darren White. So far, they have not spent any money on the district in media or direct mail.

The DCCC has reserved a similar amount of advertising in the 2nd Congressional District.
