Former Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez is headed to Copenhagan to participate in a climate change panel at the United Nations Climate Change Conference. Chavez will participate in a panel called “Leadership and Innovation by US Cities and Local Governments.”

Yesterday, Chavez promised to keep people up to date on his Twitter account.

“I offer my personal congratulations on behalf of the Democratic Party of New Mexico to Mayor Chavez and thank him for being a strong advocate on behalf of environmental issues,” Democratic Party of New Mexico chairman Javier Gonzales said in a statement.

Chavez lost in a bid for an unprecedented third consecutive term (and fourth term overall) earlier this year to RJ Berry. Berry was sworn into office on December 1.
