In light of the track record of this State and these quasi-governmental organizations (with the authority to bond and tax, without legislative approval) - like the housing authority - is this a good idea? If the projects go into the toilet - who pays the bill? I don't know ... just curious ...

I am all for renewable energy. My concern has to do with avian species which can be fatally injured if not outright killed by the turbines. As far as I can tell from some simple research, there is no environmental review for these farms when it comes to affects on wildlife. I always believe there is a way to compromise but in the renewable energy world it sometimes appears that because companies are going green, the critical analysis of environemntal affects does not occur.

The people of NM pay for all this. It does not create jobs as the project is already operational and has been. The jobs were created by Edision Mission, not by the authorit, when the project was built over the summer. There was a newspaper article on it. The tranmission part will not create jobs as PNM will do all the work, I bet. The only parties that benefit are Edision Mission and PNM, who builds and owns the line. The state and the people get nothing. It reminds of financing a house and then handing it over to someone else.

This sounds like another massive give away subsidy to one of Richardsons favored industries. Who pay this RETA's salaries anyway?

Did this create jobs for New Mexicans? How is this going to benefit the state's residents? Does that state generate any revenues from this wind farm?
