In another video from Saturday’s protest in Alamogordo–sponsored by the Otero Tea Party Patriots, the Alamogordo Second Amendment Task Force and the Sons of Liberty Riders–one man explained why organizers encouraged participants to bring their guns.

“It’s a shock value thing,” he said.“The gun is just you know, our resource. …[Because] it was advertised as an open carry event, we have more media,” he said before lamenting that more attention was paid to the guns than the protesters’ messages.
