Pain? Trip, you're trippin' again. Pain for everyone except the wealthiest New Mexicans [earn $250K or more a year] who continue to get tax breaks worth at least $350 million a year during capitalism's most recent crisis and New Mexico's $500 million budget deficit. Pain? Come on, Trip. Pain for everything except those out-of-state corporations [Wal Mart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Starbucks] which pay zero [that's $0] state income taxes on the profits earned in New Mexico, worth at least $100 million a year. When will the NM Independent become "independent" from the ABQ Chamber of Capitalists, Rio Grande Foundation and other such pro-capitalist/free market advocacy groups?

No one expects to get through this difficult time without some pain - but why do our leaders keep inflicting the pain on those least able to handle it? Pay cuts should be on a sliding scale and tax increases applied to the top income brackets and out of state corporations (big box stores), not senior citizens who skimp on groceries now. Every one of these elected officials should spend a night living on the streets and get a taste of reality (including Bill and the other gatos gordos).

Do what AZ did , except use E-verify for all Employees and push the illegals out of your state and save billions.......no Taxes need to be raised and it also means more jobs for U.S Citizens and with more Americans working, thats less people on social programs....
