NRCC gets anti-Heinrich, Teague web spaces ready

The National Republican Congressional Committee has reserved some space on the Web for a site attacking Congressman Martin Heinrich. A similar Web site aimed at Harry Teague is also being hosted by the same company.

Domain Name Wire reports that the NRCC registered “a slew” of domain names.

The domain names include Democrat congressmen followed by “facts.com”. On Friday, NRCC registered about 30 domain names, such as ZackSpaceFacts.com (Ohio), HeinrichFacts.com (Martin Heinrich, New Mexico), and BillFosterFacts.com (Illionois). The domain names currently do not have active web sites.

A search with a domain name lookup service shows that the same servers will host TeagueFacts.com — but not LujanFacts.com.

Heinrich, Teague and Ben Ray Lujan are all Democratic freshman Representatives.

Smartech, the company which is hosting the space for the Web site, has hosted Web sites for Republicans in the past, including the Web site for the Republican National Convention in 2004 and 2008.

Andrew Stone, the Western Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, responded to the news by telling the New Mexico Independent in an e-mail, “The fact is that with national Republicans facing fundraising woes, massive internal struggles and a huge credibility gap, it’s laughable that they’d even pretend to present facts about anything to anyone.”
