Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson is heading to New Hampshire to speak to the New Hampshire Liberty Caucus, the Santa Fe New Mexican’s Steve Terrell reported today. Johnson will be there on January 23.

As Terrell notes, New Hampshire is the site of the nation’s first presidential primary. The Iowa caucuses are usually held the week before the New Hampshire primary.

Libertarians have been pushing a Johnson presidential candidacy and New York Times writer David Brooks recently called Johnson a potential leader of the tea party movement.

Johnson is a libertarian Republican who served two terms as New Mexico governor.

He has been on a bit of a media blitz in recent weeks following the launch of his new advocacy group the Our America Initiative.
