The legislative session begins today and The New Mexico Independent will be live-blogging, as we will for all 30 days. From the opening gavel to the final call of sine die, we will be chronicling and discussing important committee hearings, floor debates and votes.

This session we’re delighted to bring you a selection of co-hosts–bloggers and reporters from other media outlets, including the Santa Fe Reporter, Weekly Alibi, KUNM and more. Be sure to join us daily!

Look for the live blog to be a regular feature on the front page. Today we’re planning to start with Gov. Bill Richardson’s state of the state address. Our co-host for the day is Alexa Schirtzinger, a staff writer at the Santa Fe Reporter.

If you are away from your computer and want to keep up with the news from the Roundhouse, we’ll be providing updates on The New Mexico Independent Twitter account (@nmindependent). Those who are wise in the ways of Twitter should follow the hashtag #roundhouse for reports from media outlets across the state.
