Watch the State of the Union with us!

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, The New Mexico Independent will host the second in a series of Legislature-related events at Rio Chama Steakhouse in Santa Fe. We’ll begin shortly after 6 p.m. with refreshments (the food is free, the booze is not) and a panel discussion on legislative issues with Sen. John Sapien, Rep. Dennis Kintigh and Steven Robert Allen of the government watchdog group Common Cause. The panel will be recorded by our partner, KNME‘s New Mexico in Focus, and we’ll do a few interviews that will be seen on the show this Friday.

At 7 p.m. we’ll turn on the TV and watch the President’s speech. So come, ask questions of our guest speakers, watch the State of the Union address and mingle with other political junkies. The event is free and open to the public.

Look for us in the Baca House at Rio Chama. It’s in the courtyard, to the left, as you’re walking toward the front door of the restaurant.

(And don’t worry, you’ll get out in plenty of time to catch the 8:15 or 9:30 p.m. southbound Railrunner trains.)
