Lujan, Teague official Web sites hacked

By | 01.28.10 | 9:21 am

Following the State of the Union address by President Barack Obama on Wednesday night, the Web sites of Representatives Ben Ray Lujan and Harry Teague were defaced by hackers. The two Web sites, as of this writing, are still not online.

The individual or individuals who hacked the Web sites, replaced the Congressional Web sites with “F*** OBAMA!! Red Eye CREW !!!! O RESTO E HACKER !!! by HADES; m4v3RiCk; t4ph0d4 — FROM BRASIL.”

(The asterisks are ours. The hackers were not so polite.)

Politico reported that 49 Web sites were effected.

Praetorian Prefect reported that the defacements appeared at 2:10 AM MST.

“The Red Eye Crew has been around for a while, and have thousands of web site defacements to their credit,” Praetorian Prefect reported. “One member, handle HADES, defaced 453 government sites in Brazil last August through a reported SQL Injection.”

Update (01/28/2010 8:00 pm):

The two Web sites are back up in full.
