This is unfortunate! Bob is a good man, a great New Mexican, and an exceptionally strong family man. He has done a great deal for the state and has been a loyal servant!! Running an association with 20 or more bosses is very difficult and trying on your emotions and family. My husband has done and knows the trials and tribulations. Our heear goes to Bob and his family and pray for his return to public service in our state.

Gallagher was a disaster as a regent at NMSU and did more damage than good. His arrogance and ignorance were beyond reproach by any other regent I have seen in 32 years at NMSU.

Whatever took so long? Claptrap never stopped spewing from that boy's mouth. No thinking, no sense, just knee-jerk BS dawn 'til dusk. Love this "pit rule" thing (you know, that "either don't make a mess or clean up after yourself" rule) you mention. That was great, getting the Journal to do a big front-pager about how this rule was just devastating to NM gas production and revenues -- all in the middle of a big 'ol production glut! Now Big Bill's on his way out, so it sure ain't about making HIM happy. Industry didn't have it so bad with Richardson, either. Boys, this is your chance to start acting like grownups and stop treating everyone else like the dumbbells they're not. Here's the real deal: oil & gas is a big, important part of the mix. We're a producing state, longtime supporters of the industry. But guess what? That doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want, wherever you want, whenever you want. Speaking of want, what'll it be? Tribal or public, state or federal? Not one acre of it belongs to you, meaning you're not the ones who get to make all the decisions. When you do develop, follow the damn rules, pay what you owe, and give a little thought to the people who live out here, our livestock, way of life, and our future land, air, and water. Especially water. Even our good buddy Pat Lyons, who'd sneak out at midnight just to fork over the drilling rights to Bosque del Apache if he could, caught you cheating NM's trust funds. Bottom line, boys: start over by being everything Bobby G never was or will be. Shape up and stop treating everyone else like crap. Knock off that stupid, nonstop spin machine, and start acting like respectful visitors and responsible members of the community who behave like their Mama taught 'em.
