Biology is not destiny and being gay may or may not be a choice depending on how you define it, but being Baptist or any other religion is definitely a choice yet they are protected by civil rights laws.

Why do we protect religious people from discrimination and not the rest of us who make moral choices for ourselves?

I agree that there is a true biological difference in brain chemistry between gay and straight people. We can expect more and more of this occurrence due to the prevalence of endocrine disruptors in our food supply. We need to let people take care of each other regardless of sexual orientation.

Domestic Partnership Equality; NOW, is the Time!

The consistent denial of Equality, specifically targeting the LGBT Community, has been a shamefully dominant and discriminatory dogmatic driving force, as a result of deliberate religious interference.
Instead of embracing a humanitarian rationale for the coexistence of a "Live and Let Live" guiding principle, an inhumane agenda to suppress Human and Civil Rights, has replaced the prerogative for an independent lifestyle of choice, with a pious decree for Bias, Hate and Judgmental Persecution.

Who actually controls the United States and its political machine?
Is it the President, Senate, Congress, and/or the "Free" citizens of this country?
The answer, is overwhelmingly unmistakable, the Vatican!
Our inalienable entitlement for Unequivocal Equality is being prohibited, by a Foreign Country!

Our nation, has always championed for the civil liberties of oppressed people, worldwide. Our soldiers are fighting and dying, in order to eliminate an aggressive terror campaign, which was ignited on September 11, 2001.
Why, then, have we allowed the conscious crusade of domestic religious bullying and intimidation fear tactics, to exist in this country?

Unprogressive, judgmental persecution is deeply rooted in a learned environment. Generations of closed minds, supporting a discriminatory rhetoric, consistently builds upon an ignorant foundation, which rarely or never aspires past the first floor. The impediment for a constructive and dignified recourse in this 21st Century is Now!
In order to reach the pinnacle for understanding, kindness, respect, sensitivity, civil rights and dignity, we must never seek to control or condemn the lives of anyone, seeking a secure and enduring existence, of Unequivocal Equality.

As United States Citizens, Taxpayers, Voters, Contributors to Society, Veterans, and first and foremost, Human Beings, we should NEVER have to "ask" for Equality!

Domestic Partner's must not be denied ALL the same privileges and benefits, our society provides for.

To those of you using the Bible as a weapon against homosexuality, you are wrong. Homosexuality is not a sin. The Bible is constantly being taken out of context to support anti-gay views. Any educated Christian would know that. Scholars who have studied the Bible in context of the times and in relation to other passages have shown those passages (Leviticus, Corinthians, Romans, etc) have nothing to do with homosexuality. These passages often cherry-picked while ignoring the rest of the Bible. The sins theses passages are referring to are idolatry, Greek temple sex worship, prostitution, pederasty with teen boys, and rape, not homosexuality or two loving consenting adults.

Thats why Jesus never mentions it as well. There is nothing immoral, wrong, or sinful about being gay. Jesus, however, clearly states he HATES hypocrites. If you preach goodness, then promote hate and twist the words of the Bible, you are a hypocrite, and will be judged and sent to hell. Homosexuals will not go to hell, hypocrites will.

This is very similar to the religious bigots of the past, where they took Bible passages to condone slavery, keep women down, and used Bible passages to claim blacks as curses who should be enslaved by the white man. People used God to claim that blacks marrying whites was unnatural, and not of God's will.

For those of you claiming homosexuality is a "lifestyle", that is a false and ignorant statement. Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice. While science is relatively new to studying homosexuality, studies tend to indicate that its biological.

There is overwhelming scientific evidence that homosexuality is not a choice. Sexual orientation is generally a biological trait that is determined pre-natally, although there is no one certain thing that explains all of the cases. "Nurture" may have some effect, but for the most part it is biological.
