Come on people, read the story. It says that
"...the commission’s work would become public once it takes a formal action – that is, after it has investigated a complaint and decided that it’s founded or unfounded."
The investigation is closed but the results are open. A grand jury is an investigation of criminal conduct and it is closed. If the grand jury brings charges, the charges are made public.

But regardless, a commission cannot force public servants to be ethical. Only an ethical culture can do that and that is a WAY bigger task.

If someone is found guilty, I do believe everyone has a right to know. There are enough secrets in Washington.

Unwarranted secrecy does not protect the innocent, it protects the guilty and the not yet caught.

The very worst thing that any public servant can do, is anything they do in (unwarranted) secret. Be afraid, be very afraid, of politicians and public servants with something to hide.

As a citizen of Sierra County, home of Spaceport America and all of it's related political corruption, I find it highly disconcerting that the findings of an ethics commission might be considered confidential.

Our local populace has been struggling with an opaque local government, which seems to have protected an unregistered mining operation illegally providing materials to Spaceport America, when another aggregate mine was available 25 miles closer to the construction site.

Not only was this detrimental to the health and welfare of Sierra County citizens, but obviously more expensive for the taxpayers of New Mexico.

I firmly recommend that any such ethics commission, not be burdened with the excessive and malignant expectation that these violations of the public trust be kept in confidentiality.

We, the taxpayers of New Mexico, both expect and deserve the proper management of public tax dollars. Do not allow the continued abuse of the public trust by men like Steve Landeene to continue without response.

Thank you for your time and attention.
