Mr. Pearce was one of instigators of the problems we have today – always supporting the Bush Administration. He was part of the Washington establishment. Now he trying to hook up with the Tea party fanatics.

This is the same guy, who is a wealthy veteran, who neglected our veterans. Although Congressman Steve Pearce touted he is veteran, he has a miserable record with regards to our veterans. This is a real issue in the 2010 election. In 2003 instead of acknowledging that more money was needed for veterans health care, Congressman Pearce told veterans in Tularosa, New Mexico that problems with VA health care are the result of abuse by veterans and their families of an “entitlement” program. “It’s very difficult to get fraud and abuse out of entitlement programs… People sometimes don’t exist in the first place or they are passed away and someone is still drawing funds. I am very suspicious of entitlement action,” said Pearce. A local veteran responded by telling Pearce, “This is not entitlement, but something we’ve earned.” This was documented in Alamogordo Daily News, on August 6, 2003.

Our veterans and their medical care should be an important priority. the wealthy Pearce could care less for our our military men and women. As Teddy Roosevelt said: “A man (or woman) who is good enough to shed his blood for his country is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards”. Mr. Pearce gave the veterans a raw deal. New Mexicans should not FORGET Mr. Pearce and how he treated our veterans.
