Roughly one quarter of University of New Mexico students are unimpressed with the state’s flagship public school, according to a survey that questioned college students about their higher education experiences.
“The House had had this a number of years,” Senate President Pro Tem Tim Jennings, D-Roswell, said of the trophy, “and we’re glad that they finally now have the fortitude, the self-control and feel good enough about themselves that they can go ahead and bring this back.”
The House had been on a winning streak in the basketball game — nine games to be exact before the Senate pulled off an upset this year.
Rep. Gloria Vaughn, R-Alamogordo, however, told the Senate not to enjoy it too much. “I just wanted to say we love you, but we want the trophy back.”
