In short of the food taxes bill passed for the State of New Mexico I feel that it is a complete absurdity that our politicians are using it just as a supposed way to balance our states fiscal budgets which in if a person my look into the realities of actual politics here as well as nation wide you can see that it is not a way to save the states budgeting program yet a way to be sneaky and keep the legislature from cutting into their own state funded budgets for automobiles, homes, food for themselves, state tax dollar funded vacations for these politicians, and their funding to drive the Cadilac, BMW, or Mercedes that our own New Mexican Resident Tax Dollars are funding them to have as well as fuel up on our dollar. Will the lies of politicians both locally and federally never sease from their mouths and pen tips in office..??? I highly doubt it. If they wish to add taxes to things such as juices for children, sodas for reacreational events, teas (Can we say Boston Tea Party all over), and other food products why can they not pick from their own wallets and purses to purchase their own supplies such as the aforgoing products instead of using Public Tax dollars to support themselves and their Political Get Togethers aka Tax Funded Drunken Parties. Can our Governer, Senator, and other elected Political Officials shell out of their own pockets for the 500 dollar bottles of alcohol that is consumed at said parties and kept in their private stashes. If my tax dollars can purchase there alchohol and pay for the parties in which they have why are you and I not invited to these political fiascos anyway...??? That is simply my opinion about these Big Spenders in our local, State, and Federal Offices. If I am paying for it why not invite both myself and fellow citizens to partake in these endeavours instead of siting us for treaspassing or when we get to close to your office with our opinions putting us in jail, the ones paying for these escapades of yours, instead of shaking our hands after we have spoken to you and voiced our opinions. This country was formed that way so why can't it return to that way of thinking when politicians kept their promises, kissed babies, and stood for what's rite instead of making up false ways to continue their personal big budget tax payer funded frivolity..?? Thanks.

Good for the legislature to choose foods that are known to contribute to poor health. You can still eat your JUNK, but now would be a time to LEARN something and make some better choices at the store. Whole wheat instead of white flour. Sea salt instead of processed salt. SUCANAT instead of white sugar.<br>[sucanat is the unprocessed sugar that white sugar is made of-WILL NOT cause your teeth to get cavities, no matter how much you eat of it. Is made of granules instead of crystals [all sugar that has the shape of a crystal has been processed like brown sugar, turbinado sugar, etc, etc.---yes it costs more---available at Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods, La Montanita, and Moses's Country Food in the BULK sectionand other Health Food stores. By the way I live in poverty and have for many years. And I am able to make these healthier choices that I speak of

Albuquerque is NOT a STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could the Wirth amendment not be accepted? To let these giant companies compete unfairly with local small businesses is hard to comprehend. We are in a small minority of states who allow this free ride to the Big Box companies.

The poor in this state get hit again for the fat cats.<br>I love the part about fighting obesity with starvation, cause that'<br>s what that moke is saying.<br>Good for Griego, I've never been sorry I voted for him.<br>Richardson belong in jail, but the real crooks never wind up there, notice that?

I can't believe that we are going to be taxed on food again!! When will our state government learn to live within their means? If you don't have the money then STOP spending. Is this too difficult to understand? And don't take away school funding. We have a train (Richardson's Folly) that runs miles one way that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars a year that is used by less that 1% of the state's population. Is this a good use of tax dollars? NO!!!!!!! We can't afford anymore tax increases!!!
