A slideshow by Talking Points Memo about political legacies showed Republican gubernatorial candidate Pete Domenici Jr., the son of former Sen. Pete Domenici, but did not show Sen. Tom Udall, the son of former Secretary of the Interior and Congressman Stewart Udall.

The slideshow followed the announced retirement of Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., the son of former Sen. Birch Bayh.

The slideshow was focused on children (or grandchildren) of federal officeholders or governors, which perhaps explains why Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, son of Speaker of the House Ben Lujan, is not included.

Stewart Udall served three terms as a Representative in Arizona before becoming Secretary of the Interior. Stewart Udall’s brother, and Tom Udall’s uncle, Morris Udall was also a long-time Representative from Arizona. Morris Udall succeeded his brother Stewart Udall; Morris Udall’s son, and Tom Udall’s cousin, Mark Udall is a Senator from Colorado.
