Video: Richardson debates Pawlenty on Larry King Live

Gov. Bill Richardson was on Larry King Live last night to debate Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. Pawlenty, a Republican, is considered a likely candidate for President in 2012.

The two sparred on the jobs bill, which passed with bipartisan support, and the televised health care summit on health care between the White House and Congressional leaders of both parties that will happen tomorrow.

Both Richardson and Pawlenty were in Washington D.C. for a meeting of the nations governors. The governors met with President Barack Obama this weekend.

Pawlenty accused Democrats of not including Republican ideas in the health care reform bill and repeatedly said that Obama was “overreaching,” while Richardson defended Obama. Richardson said, “I will say that I was discouraged by the partisanship [in Washington D.C.], but it’s not coming from the President, he has reached out and I think that he has been very effective.”
