On Monday night, the popular Comedy Central program “The Colbert Report” highlighted a New Mexico business that converts shipping containers into housing.

PFNC, according to the company Web site, stands for “Por Fin Nuestra Casa.” Translated into English, this means “Finally, a home of our own.”

Stephen Colbert joked this was the second name of the business. The original name, Colbert joked, was “Jesucristo, Vivo En Una Caja de Embarque.” Which, Colbert said, translates to “Sweet Jesus, I Live in a Shipping Container.”

The business

Colbert mentioned the business in a segment called “Bears and Balls” in which Colbert gave financial advice. The portion that mentioned PFNC was sandwiched between a segment about a Michigan house that sold for $1.75 and the story that cities can’t afford salt for thawing snow and ice on roads this winter.

“You know the real estate market is tough when people will spend less on an actual house than on an episode of ‘House,’” Colbert joked. Episodes of the Fox TV show “House” cost $2.99 on iTunes.
