Oh please; if things continue like this we will all be for socialized medicine. Health Insurance needs to be shaken to it's core. The state boundaries that exist need to be lifted. A national template of oversight needs to be in place just like it is for MANY other industries.

I think the statistics would suggest that the “up to age 25″ group is pretty low risk. Treating infertility is another issue.

You are very right about this matter: people can't afford to pay an increased insurance just because there is an economical crisis and the insurance company can't handle it. In the end, if things will continue like this, we will all turn out to be without insurance because all the insurance companies will go bankrupt.

Why are insurance prices so high? Look no further than our state and federal government. Want to jack up the cost of insurance? Require companies in NM to pay for infertility treatments. Require them to treat legal adults up to the age of 25 as children on their parents policy. As unemployment rises and the pool of insured people grows smaller, prices will increase. What I find outrageous is the same politicians who caused price increases have the temerity to point their finger anywhere but at themselves.

Oh, and look at our precious New Mexico Insurance Division! Who are they, a subsidiary of the insurance industry?

If the New Mexico Insurance Division can't cut a cheaper deal with Pres with the leverage of many thousands of State workers' policies, they should ALL BE FIRED! There is NO reason but greed to justify a 10% increase!
