President Barack Obama will be meeting today with a group of top Senators—including Sen. Jeff Bingaman—to discuss energy and climate legislation, according to The Hill.
The meeting is set to bring together the chairmen and ranking members of top Senate committees on energy and climate issues, as well as a number of senators who have expressed reservations over the cap-and-trade legislation to address climate change that has stalled in the Senate.
Bingaman is the chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
In addition to the 11 senators, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will also attend the meeting.
