Three candidates for state House seats have been disqualified by the Secretary of State’s Office for submitting “improper nominating petitions.” They are: Democrat Billy Moore, who was running against two other Democrats for the House District 5 seat in Northwestern New Mexico, and Republicans David Doyle and Thomas Molitor, who were running for the House District 23 seat in the Albuquerque area, The Associated Press is reporting.

That leaves Rep. Ben Rodefer, D-Corrales, who represents District 23, facing one GOP challenger – Paul Pacheco. In District 5, Rep. Sandra Jeff, D-Crownpoint, faces former state Rep. Irvin Harrison, D-Gallup, in the primary. The winner will have no GOP challenger in November.
