Roughly one quarter of University of New Mexico students are unimpressed with the state’s flagship public school, according to a survey that questioned college students about their higher education experiences.
Someone reportedly shot at the truck of Public Regulation Commissioner Sandy Jones while he was pulled over and speaking on his cell phone on I-40 near Clines Corners.
Jones, who is running for State Land Commissioner as a Democrat, joked in a statement, “I was just a few inches away from getting out of the land race.”
Jones said that someone in a van passing by shot at the truck and hit the back passenger window.
Jones contacted a State Police officer and reported the incident, which they are now investigating.
“I am a little shaken by the incident, but I was not hurt and that’s what’s important,” said Jones.
