Gary Johnson has a high time on the Colbert Report

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson appeared on the satirical news show Colbert Report and spoke about his belief that marijuana should be legalized and taxed.

When host Stephen Colbert asked Johnson if he was high at that moment, Johnson responded, “I’m high being on this show.”

Johnson has repeatedly said that he no longer smokes marijuana, but still believes that it should be legal.

Colbert also questioned if New Mexico was the “good Mexico.” With a response that many New Mexicans have had to make before, Johnson said that it was “the United States of America.”

Most of the conversation, however, focused on the fact that Johnson wants to legalize marijuana.

When Colbert began to ask about whether Johnson would make a 2012 presidential run, Johnson asked, “How could that possibly be? I’m here espousing the legalization of marijuana and harm reduction strategies regarding all the other drugs.”

Colbert said it was just more proof that Johnson was “burnt right now.”
