Campaign Ad-Watch: Denish airs first ad

Democratic gubernatorial candidate, and current Lt. Gov., Diane Denish has aired her first ad, a biographical ad where she outlines some plans to cut government spending.

Denish has no competition in the Democratic primary, while the five Republican candidates battle it out for the Republican nomination.

“New Mexico families trust Diane Denish because they know that she’s on their side. Simply put, Diane just gets it – and New Mexicans know that,” said Oren Shur, Denish’s campaign manager in a statement announcing the ad.

DENISH: Being from Hobbs is a good way to learn every community matters. As Lt. Governor, I’ve made it a priority to get out of Santa Fe and focus on what happens in all of our communities.

MAN: She is committed to honest, ethical, open government.

WOMAN: It’s not about her, it’s about us; and I think she gets that.

WOMAN 2: She’ll do the right thing. No matter what.

DENISH: I’ve never been one of those ‘good ol’ boys’ and never wanted to be one of those ‘good ol’ boys.’ As a small business owner I balanced a budget and I made a payroll. And I didn’t spend money that I didn’t have. Government needs to do the same thing. As Governor, one of the first things I’ll do is cut waste out of government. Let’s get rid of the bloated bureaucracy. Slash the state car fleet. And get rid of unnecessary political appointees. And focus on what really matters in New Mexico: Job creation, improving education, and turning New Mexico’s economy around.

NARRATOR: Diane Denish. Governor.
