Several Pakistani government officials are scheduled to meet with Secretary of State Mary Herrera on Tuesday in Santa Fe, her office said in a news release. The group has an interest in “transparency in government,” and how city, county, and state governments interact with each other, the release said.

In addition to meeting with Herrera, the group will meet with Santa Fe Mayor David Coss, Vernon Lujan of the Pojoaque Pueblo, Rob Dean of the Santa Fe New Mexican, and other various governmental and non-governmental officials.

The group of seven officials and three interpreters will visit Santa Fe as one of its stops on a multi-city tour that also has them visiting Washington D.C., Seattle and Chicago as part of a U.S. State Department program.

“It is wonderful opportunity to meet with foreign dignitaries,” Herrera said in the news release. “It gives us a chance to understand how each our government’s work, share best practices, and exchange ideas and experiences. We look forward to their visit and trust their trip to New Mexico will be productive, educational, and enjoyable.”
