At first glance today’s Rasmussen poll showing Democrat Diane Denish leads GOP guv candidate Susana Martinez looks like good news for Denish—until you remember that Denish led Martinez by 19 points in late March. But since then the five GOP candidates have been hammering Denish relentlessly, and enthusiasm about the Tuesday primary is at a fever pitch.

In this most recent poll, Denish leads former state party chair Allen Weh 39 to 45; state Rep. Janice Arnold-Jones 45 to 31, PR firm owner Doug Turner 47 to 31 and former Senator’s son Pete Domenici Jr. 47 to 30.

From Rasmussen:

The survey of 500 Likely Voters in New Mexico was conducted on May 25, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
