According to the New Mexico Secretary of State’s office, polling places have been pretty quiet so far today. Odds are you haven’t voted. Do you need to know where to vote? And who’s on the ballot? We’ve got all that info for you here.
Only registered Republicans and Democrats may vote in the primaries today. This election determines which candidates will be on the ballot in the general election this fall. If you are not registered with either of those two parties you’ll need to wait until November to cast your vote.

How can I find out more about the candidates?
The Independent’s Gwyneth Doland interviewed all of the candidates for governor. You can watch those New Mexico in Focus interviews with Denish and Martinez here, Arnold-Jones, Turner, Weh and Domenici Jr. here.
NMI’s Trip Jennings moderated a forum for the land commissioner candidates.
Bryant Furlow wrote about the PRC candidates here.
For more information you can also see the Albuquerque Journal’s voter guide here.
Who’s winning?
Easy there, pardner. Hold your horses. We won’t have any results until after the polls close at 7 p.m. But we’ll have all of the information here first, so be sure to check back starting at 6:30.
Where can I go to celebrate/drown my sorrows?
Here’s a list of some of the watch parties we’ve heard about. If you know of a party that’s open to the public, let us know about it. E-mail tips@newmexicoindependent.com.
Democrats gather at the Doubletree
The Democratic Party is hosting an event at the Doubletree Hotel in Albuquerque, starting at 6 p.m. Guests are expected to include Diane Denish, U.S. Rep. Martin Heinrich, Secretary of State Mary Herrera, State Auditor Hector Balderas, Attorney General Gary King and State Treasurer James B. Lewis.
The candidates for lieutenant governor will be at their own watch parties, but the winner of the primary is expected to join Denish at the Doubletree.
Candidate Jerry Ortiz y Pino will be at his campaign headquarters (map) starting at 6 p.m.
Republicans host party at the Marriott
Neither of the frontrunners in the governor’s race will be at the Marriott. Susana Martinez will be watching the returns with supporters at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces. The event is free, but the campaign asks supporters to RSVP by calling 1-800-446-3919.
Allen Weh was scheduled to be at the Marriott, but decided over the weekend to watch from his campaign headquarters in Albuquerque; the public is not invited.
CD3 Congressional primary watch parties
GOP Candidate Adam Kokesh will be hosting an election watch party at Joe’s Diner, 2801 Rodeo Road in the Rodeo Road Shopping Plaza in Santa Fe. The event is FREE and will begin at 7 pm. Hors d’ oeuvres will be provided with a no-host bar, and live coverage of election results.
His opponent, Tom Mullins is hosting a party at Courtyard by Marriott in Farmington starting at 6 p.m.
