Arizona could allow the use of marijuana if voters approve of a measure that qualified Tuesday for the November ballot. In order to get the issue on the ballot, supporters gathered more than 250,000 signatures, the Arizona Republic reports.
If Arizonans approve the measure, New Mexico’s next-door neighbor would join New Mexico and 13 others states that already allow for the medicinal use of cannabis.
Arizona’s ballot measure is one of several across the country involving marijuana that will go to a vote in November.
Californians will vote whether to legalize marijuana. A recent poll showed that nearly half of that state’s electorate supports the measure, although some of those who express support aren’t vigorous in their support.
Meanwhile Oregon voters might vote this November on whether to establish legal dispensaries around that state for medical marijuana.
