Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has endorsed GOP gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez and given her $5,000 from his Freedom First PAC. Martinez has been enjoying financial and endorsement support engineered by the Republican Governors Association. She has also received endorsements from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

“Susana is a strong voice who will make an outstanding governor, and her historic victory is a big win for the people of New Mexico,” Pawlenty said in a statement. “Today, New Mexico confronts a massive budget deficit, significant government growth and extensive corruption, all of which Martinez is prepared to confront with an agenda for bold change in the state.”

Pawlenty said that he called Martinez on election night to congratulate her on her primary victory where she has over 50 percent of the votes according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office.
