Report: DCCC assigned lobbyists to help Heinrich, Teague

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has assigned lobbyists to help out on the reelection campaigns of certain potentially vulnerable House members—including freshman Reps. Martin Heinrich and Harry Teague, according to Roll Call.

Lobbyists were recruited to help with “fundraising, messaging and campaign strategy” for candidates in the DCCC’s “Frontline” program.

In addition to Heinrich and Teague, Steve Driehaus and Mary Jo Kilroy of Ohio, Debbie Halvorson of Illinois, Kathy Dahlkemper of Pennsylvania and Betsy Markey of Colorado were among those to whom lobbyists were assigned to help with reelection.

The deputy executive director at the DCCC and political director for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told Roll Call that it wasn’t unusual. “It’s one of the things the Speaker always asks for when talking with supporters around the country,” Jennifer Crider said.
