The New Mexico governor’s race is looking better to Republican Susana Martinez today, as one national analyst has shifted its analysis of the race from “likely Democratic” to ”toss-up.”

According to Cook Political Report: “…Both parties nominated very solid candidates with strong credentials and reputations for toughness. This is going to be a very close and potentially ugly contest. And, it may also be the only one featuring two women as nominees (the other possibility is Oklahoma, depending on the outcome of primaries there). While the race has been in the Likely Democratic column for months, polling, the national mood and Martinez’s strengths as a candidate warrant moving this race to Toss Up.”
