Rio Grande Foundation hires reporter to cover the Roundhouse

The Rio Grande Foundation, a conservative, free-market nonprofit in Albuquerque, announced today that it has hired a full-time reporter to cover the state capitol on www.capitolreportnewmexico.com.

Rob Nikolewski worked as a sports anchor for seven different television stations across the country from 1983 until last year, according to his profile on LinkedIn.com. In 2008, he received a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University, where his profile says he focused on economics, management, leadership and quantitative analysis.

Nikolewski is also a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism, according to a press release from the Rio Grande Foundation.

“Undoubtedly, some will question whether a reporter who works for an ideologically free-market organization can be objective, but the real truth is that reporters are human beings and humans experience the world in a subjective way. I believe Rob Nikolewsk’s reporting will speak for itself and I think CapitolReportNewMexico.com will soon be a regular read for those who want to be ‘in the know’ on what is happening in New Mexico,” Foundation President Paul Gessing said in the release.
