On last Friday’s episode of KNME’s New Mexico in Focus, “The Line” opinion panel discussed a recent case in which three Farmington men were charged with a hate crime after allegedly branding a swastika into the arm of a young mentally challenged Navajo man.

Host Gene Grant led NMI’s Marjorie Childress, Larry Ahrens, Laura Sanchez and Jim Scarantino through a conversation about the Navajo Human Rights Commission’s efforts to improve race relations in Farmington and whether the incident was a rare event or part of a larger pattern.
