Richardson to talk scuttled border governor’s meeting on Olbermann

By | 07.09.10 | 2:59 pm

Gov. Bill Richardson will appear tonight on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann to discuss the annual border governor’s meeting between American and Mexican governors. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer canceled the conference after Mexican governors said they would not attend because of Arizona’s controversial immigration law, but Richardson says that Brewer doesn’t have the authority to cancel the meeting.

Richardson said that he’s interested in moving the meeting to another location.

Richardson announced that he would be on the MSNBC opinion program via his official Twitter account.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, like Brewer a Republican, also voiced support in The New York Times for moving the meeting instead of canceling it.

The annual meeting rotates between border states in both the United States and Mexico. This year, the meeting was scheduled for Arizona.
