The Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) will be in Santa Fe from July 18-21 for its annual meeting, according to a press release from New Mexico Attorney General Gary King. The annual meeting will take place at the Eldorado Hotel.

According to King’s office, the topics of discussion will include the Endangered Species Act, drugs, fraud, Indian Gaming, ethics and other topics. Something not on the list, but sure to be a topic of discussion, is illegal immigration and the federal lawsuit against the state of Arizona.

“As chief legal officers in our respective states it is important to know about and understand what our colleagues are doing to address common issues,” said King. “Our state-to-state collaborations benefit our citizens and help give us a voice in Washington on federal issues that affect the Western region of the country.”

CWAG includes Attorneys General from the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming as well as from the Pacific jurisdictions of American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam.
