Luján outraises Mullins in 2nd quarter

Rep. Ben Ray Luján, D-N.M., outraised his Republican opponent once again according to FEC reports. Luján raised $104,000 in the 2nd quarter to Mullins’ $47,000. Luján also has a very large advantage in cash on hand.

Luján has $416,000 cash on hand to Mullins’ $36,000.

The 3rd Congressional District is New Mexico’s most Democratic-leaning district. The seat has only briefly been held by a Republican, when Bill Redmond won a special election when Bill Richardson left his seat in Congress to become Ambassador to the United Nations.

Ben Ray Luján won the seat in a three-way race which included a strong green party candidate in 2006.
