Rates are going to go up that is a giving for health insurance. What you need to do is get the best rate you can until 2014 comes around, then it will be a level playing field. My family was lucky enough to get a family plan at UtahHealth.com. Though I work in New mexico about 20 percent of the time so I needed a PPO plan that offered good coverage for low rates.

This service compare all the companies in about 1 minute. Not sure if New Mexico could do something like this but it made buying health insurance in Utah so easy....

I have to say that both models are not that great. When you see what a local person in Nevada has done, you have to wonder why do they not consult with this company. NevadaHealth.com offer instate health insurance rates for all of Nevada in about 30 seconds.

I found this type of system or health care exchange system the most easy to use in the state. You also get to talk to a real agent if needed. It is incredible. I would probably do a few minor changes but I think New Mexico and other surrounding states need to look at what local agents are already doing.

At the center of the nation’s new federal health care law are health insurance exchanges. They must be up and running by 2014. This is what is being said.

This is a big strain on some states.Though plenty of time to get things up and running. It seems Utah, Mass, and Oregon are doing some good things. Also louisianainsurance.com or the good folks in New orleans are starting to put some decent sites together for insurance quotes and plans.

Most of these state agencies need to talk to agents that run health agencies to see how they run and operate

Apply for financial aid and scholarships. UNM may offer some since the medical personnel is extremely lacking here. Join the service and they will train physicans, nurses, etc

I can see it now—a huge amount of employees to run a new dept. with a Richardson appointee as head of the dept–lots of money spent on administration of it while regulating to death the insurance companies so they will eventually go bankrupt and as Obama planned we will be forced to use a public option of inferior, mediocre medical personnel in NM ,which aready has an unacceptably low amount of physicians and qualified nurses.
