The Obama administration has no plans to send Gov. Bill Richardson to North Korea, an anonymous official told the Agence France Presse (AFP) news agency Monday.
The South Korean JoongAng Daily newspaper reported Monday morning that Obama was considering allowing Richardson to accept an invitation to visit Pyongyang.
“It is not accurate,” the anonymous administration official reportedly told AFP. “There is no plan to send Bill Richardson to Pyongyang.”
South Korean officials declined comment Monday, AFP reported. Richardson’s deputy chief of staff, Gilbert Gallegos, declined The Independent’s request for comment Monday morning.
