Little-known Tijeras firm earns scrutiny for election night role

Who compiles New Mexico’s voting data on election night? The answer to that question might depend on whom you ask.

Jim Williams of KUNM explains how an obscure Tijeras firm named Auburn SeeWolf aggregates voting information from across the state on Election Day before it is posted to the secretary of state’s Web site. To listen, click here.

According to Williams, the firm is a tiny IT and data storage company run by a husband and wife team, Sandra and John Ryan, out of their basement in Tijeras.

Williams goes on to report:

Since 2004, that’s apparently where voting results have gone first on election night. A-E-S (a Rio Rancho firm) has subcontracted with the Ryans to aggregate data that’s automatically posted on the secretary of state’s Web site. And that concerns some election watchdogs.
