New Mexico First and New Mexico Public Broadcasters will be holding a series of town hall debates in October. Groups of about 50 citizens in each congressional district will get together to come up with questions for the candidates; the next day they’ll put those questions to the candidates on live TV.

Oh, and Sam Donaldson is moderating.

The schedule, and information on joining a town hall, are posted after the jump.

Saturday, October 9: 3rd Congressional District, Portales in collaboration with KENW

Friday, October 15: 1st Congressional District, Albuquerque in collaboration with KNME

Wednesday, October 27: 2nd Congressional District, Las Cruces in collaboration with KRWG

Programs will air at 7:00 p.m.  Each debate will also be simulcast on all 3 New Mexico public television stations and air on many public radio stations.

Participants for the town halls must pre-register; seating is limited.  Residents who are interested in participating in the event for their Congressional District can find detailed information at www.NMFirst.org.
